Now a days we are seeing increase in the unique way people starts protesting for a cause which they believe is worth protesting for and now we are hearing a lot about this new 'Kiss of Love' protest initially started in Kerala to oppose some moral policing imposed by some rightist activists , although later the protest was cracked down by police, we are seeing people starting give support to this movement in different parts of country by holding their own form of the protest, although they are free to do their protest , now we are seeing them getting support from these pseudo secularists whose main intention is to oppose any thing and everything that seems getting support from right wing.
You can certainly kiss away all forms of protest, but kissing in public can never serve any purpose that will do away with social hypocrisy!
There was a time in the West when `bra burning` cropped up as a form of protest, but did it serve any purpose? True we live in a hypocritical society! It is also true, that there can be nothing apolitical. However, when some `conventional` political party takes exception to personal preferences, it is always with an ulterior motive to divert the youth from the burning issue of UNEMPLOYMENT.
But by doing these uncalled protest in the name of freedom of speech and expression, The middle class elitist urban based youngsters of this country who are in most case involved in this protest (ex: Delhi, IIT-Bombay, etc ) have once again proved that they can fight only for causes that affect them and sound/look interesting.
If we just see the title given to this , i.e, 'Kiss of Love' it seems they have taken Love only as love between two individuals for the want of sexual experience, but not the real meaning of love which do not need be symbolized by kiss only , if they really want to kiss or do somethings let them do it inside their home, why create fuss coming to streets and giving problems to others by creating traffic jam and other non sense things,
This is another form of elitist protest that is far removed from the concept of Love (the unconditional sacrificing form that is, if it exists at all.) i am fully in favor of sexual freedom, but freedom, unless demanded for one and all, is extended privilege. If these college going people really wanted to spread Love, they should have first protested against the caste matrimonials that appear in newspapers or carried out a march in favor of inter-caste marriages. But they can't do that, because they are partners in crime as far as maintaining the social hierarchy of caste is concerned.

So if they
want to fight corruption, they'd get involved with Anna Hazare kind of
campaigns (to fight big corruption, not the petty corruption that they
are themselves involved with) If they want to fight caste, they'd carry
out anti-reservation rallies instead of protesting against their college
professors who deliberately fail dalit students.
Calling this protest as a love protest is equivalent to comparing the elitist FEMEN protest with the protest carried out by Manipur mothers against rape by army men. They say they want to fight social hypocrisy. I mean, Really ??? Then they should first look into the mirror and slap themselves.
